Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In your bread pan, add the eggs, sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and mashed bananas. Mash and mix everything together with a fork or spatula right in the pan.
Sprinkle the flour over the top of the wet mixture.
Add the baking soda and baking powder on top of the flour. Give the dry ingredients a little mix together before folding everything into the wet batter.
Stir gently but thoroughly. Don’t forget the corners—flour loves to hide there!
Toss in the chocolate chips (if using), and give it one last stir.
Pop the pan into the oven and bake for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the banana bread sit for a bit once it's out of the oven—it comes out super moist and warm, and it’s worth the wait before slicing in.
